These terms and conditions govern the purchase, activation and use of the Digital Prepaid Mastercard Gift Card (“Card”) available through this website (“Website”), which is operated by Bolt Tech Pty Ltd ABN: 79 676 153 307 (“Bolt Tech”, “Store Operator”). The Card is issued by Bano Pty Ltd ABN 93 643 260 431, AFSL 536984 (“Issuer”, “Bano”, “we”, “us”, “our”) under license from Mastercard.
By purchasing, activating or using the Card, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. In these terms, references to “you” or “Cardholder” mean the purchaser or authorised user of the Card. All users of the Card must be provided with these Terms and Conditions.
These terms must be read together with any instructions, disclosures or policies provided at the time of purchase.
Purchasing the Card
Cards may be purchased through the Website using our online checkout system. The Cards are available in preset values of $50, $100, $200 and $500. Customers may select from the card designs displayed on the website; at this stage only pre-designed card templates are available and customers are not able to create custom card designs.
Each purchase transaction may include up to one Card per order. Customers may place multiple orders, however each order is limited to one Card. All pricing displayed on the website is subject to change from time to time without notice.
Payment for the Cards is processed through Bolt Tech and its authorised payment gateway and acquiring partners.
Card Activation
After purchasing a Card, the Cardholder must activate the Card before it can be used.
The purchaser must enter their email address or mobile phone number to receive an activation email containing a link to activate the Card. The Cardholder will receive a verification code after following the link in the activation email. After entering the verification code and completing the activation process through the Bano platform, the Card will be activated.
Following activation, the Cardholder will receive a confirmation email that includes the Card details and a link to access the Bano platform, where the Cardholder can check the card balance and status.
The Card cannot be used until the activation process has been successfully completed.
Nature of the Card
The Card is a prepaid Mastercard gift card. The Card operates on a prepaid basis and may only be used up to the value that has been loaded onto the Card at the time of purchase.
The Card is not a credit card, is not linked to any bank account, and cannot be reloaded with additional funds once issued.
Using the Card
The Card may be used to purchase goods and services wherever Mastercard prepaid cards are accepted for electronic transactions. The Card may be used for both online purchases and in-store purchases where Mastercard payments are accepted.
The Card cannot be used for ATM withdrawals, cash withdrawals, or transactions conducted over the counter at financial institutions.
Digital Wallets (“Pays”)
The Card may also be added to supported digital wallet services, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, subject to device compatibility and the availability of the relevant wallet service provider. A “Device” may be a mobile phone or wearable device that allows you to store a Card to the device and actuate a purchase using the Pays. Although the Card is Pays enabled, availability of the Pays is contingent upon the card program you have signed-up for.
We are not responsible for the availability, functionality or performance of any third-party digital wallet provider or device.
Card Expiry
Each Card has an expiry date displayed on the Card details. The Card will remain valid until the expiry date indicated. The Card cannot be used after the expiry date.
Cards issued under this program generally have an expiry period of five (5) years from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated on the Card. Subject to applicable law, any unused balance remaining on the Card after the expiry date may be forfeited.
Card Restrictions
The Card may only be used up to the available balance. Transactions that exceed the available balance will be declined unless the merchant allows the Cardholder to pay the difference using another payment method.
The Card is not reloadable and cannot be used for direct debit arrangements, recurring payments, instalment payments, or similar payment arrangements.
The Card cannot be used to obtain or redeem cash or for ATM withdrawals.
Transactions may be declined in certain circumstances, including where:
- the merchant falls within a restricted merchant category code (MCC);
- the transaction occurs in a restricted jurisdiction;
- the transaction would breach Mastercard rules or applicable laws;
- the Issuer reasonably suspects fraud or other suspicious activity;
